Vogue and Cafe Creme

France has introduced restrictions on the sale of cigarettes with “attractive” titles, right after the arrival of plain packages.

Cigarette producers of the Vogue, Corset, Fine and Allure brands will need to change cigarette names for their items, based on Health Minister Marisol Touraine.

A rule to be released on Wednesday will prohibit brand names that deliver the feeling that it is trendy to smoke, which definitely doesn’t comply with plain packaging rule. As for cigarette manufacturers of the Cafe Creme, Paradiso and Punch cigars, they will have two years to the change names, whilst cigarette producers will be allowed only a year.

Additionally, all titles that make reference to finesse or slimness, such as “slim” and super slim”, will also be restricted as well as the ones that suggest some properties or contain fruit or natural herbs, like menthol.
