cigar smoke

For the first time, cigar smoking was registered in the 10th century, when local inhabitants of the Caribbean Sea and Mesoamerica islands took pleasure in it. The first European cigar smokers were Columbus’s crewmen, who supposedly landed in Cuba and lighted up tobacco wrapped in maize husks, in the late 15th century.

Nowadays, cigar is a compactly rolled bundle of dried tobacco, smoked all over the world and enjoyed by cigar aficionados. Despite the fact the cigars are already popular; the true art of smoking a cigar is still unknown to many people. So, if you are one of those who like to smoke cigars, the below tips will explain how to do it properly in order to get the best enjoyment.

Tips to Smoke Cigars:

  • In order to smoke a cigar, the firs and most important thing you have to do is to cut it appropriately.
  • The method of cutting a cigar is better achieved with the help of a special cigar cutter, mostly a double guillotine, which guarantees equal cutting of the edges.
  • You can also use a blade for cutting your cigar. However, please make sure that it is sufficiently sharp, as a blunt object may damage the cigar edges.
  • After you cut the cigar, do not forget to remove the ring wrapper. Still, if you want, you can leave the wrapper and it will fall after some time as the heat from cigar smoke will melt its glue.
  • Then, you will have to light the cigar. Wooden matches or a lighter will be the best variant.
  • However, note that if you use wooden matches for lighting the cigar, give some time for the sulfur to burn off the end. Hold the flame up to the end and such gently with your mouth, drawing the flame till the top of the cigar.
  • In order to make sure that the cigar has lights, continue rotating it around for a while.
  • And finally, hold the cigar up to your mouth and inhale the smoke. Do not exhale at once. Let the smoke remain in your mouth for a few seconds and them exhale it. Inhaling cigar smoke is not a very good idea.
  • Repeat the preceding step for 2-3 times in a minute, till you finish with enjoying your cigar.
  • But if you are thinking to smoke the cigar longer than an hour, make sure to rotate it from time to time. This will assure you that the cigar burns on all sides.
  • After you finish smoking your favorite cigar, put it aside in the ashtray and it will extinguish in two minutes.
